What Exactly is Barre?
Barre is an all inclusive workout that targets all parts of your body including arms, abs, thighs and glutes to lengthen and lean out your muscles. It’s a very unique practice in the sense that it combines elements of yoga, ballet and pilates.
The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements. Also, don't be surprised if your class incorporates light handheld weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats for targeted core work.
Benefits of Barre include better muscle tone, core strength, improved posture and mental focus! During each 60 min session students can expect to sweat, push and stretch while listening to motivating music!
